After six successful years as Charleston’s head football coach, Perry Liles has taken an assistant’s position at Calhoun City, his alma mater. He rejoins head coach Mike Ray, an old high school teammate.
Liles was 57-19-1 at Charleston, which he took to the playoffs all six years. The Tigers reached the Class 3A state championship game in 2005.
Liles, 43, was also head coach at Coffeeville for four years and Aberdeen for two years.
He said he made the move to be close to his three children, all of whom attend Calhoun City schools. Liles will coach the offensive and defensive lines and be the strength coach.
