Brad, I found out Pritchard wasn’t on the North/South roster and couldn’t believe it. Why do you think he was left of the list? Does the MS Association of Coaches really not think he’s up to par? I see some of the guys on the list, and all seem to have great criteria, but I feel as though Pritchard got snubbed by a lot of Metro area teams. Real shocker for me.

Whoa, where’s April Sykes? Is there another all-star game then she has to be in?

  3. Ah, yes. I meant to say something about Sykes. She’s already participating in two all-star games, so per NCAA rules, she cannot play in this one.

As for Pritchard, I don’t know what to tell you. I was there and put in a good word for him, but somebody said something about the competition he faced. Whatever, he should’ve been on there.

Yeah, I believe Evrick Morris out of OB got hosed too but that’s just my opinion.

So, I’m guessing Denardo Watkins out of Shannon faced a TOUGHER schedule? lol. I give.

Playing Olive Branch, Hernando, Pontotoc, Shannon, McNairy Central (TN), and DeSoto Central is not the toughest, but a good resume for averaging over 22-25ppg.

Oh well, I look forward for him showing all of those coaches wrong next year.

  5. My memory has just been jogged. Pritchard didn’t make the team because he wasn’t nominated. That’s on his coach, not the MAC coaches. Although I remember having that conversation with some coach about the competition Pritchard faced; just can’t recall the exact context of that conversation.

Gotcha, that’s what I figured. This coach needs to see some film against New Hope with Rashanti Harris and Dale Hughes their sophomore year and Tyler Pritchard his freshman year when TC almost pulled the upset 1st round North Half vs. New Hope. Pritchard was lights out for most of that game if my memory serves me correctly. I know he at least played very competitively. I know we’re talking about this year, but everyone that’s seen Pritchard play know that he’s the real deal. I understand with not getting on with not being nominated.

BTW, Tupelo beat TC 7-3. It was close most of the game, a couple of errors killed TC in the clutch (but that’s the way it goes sometimes). Seth George gave up 2 hits in 4 IP vs. TC. Thornton pitched lights out too.

I question Goolsby being left off. Not sure how the selection goes with different Classes(A-AAAAA). I think that we have seen the last white participant for a while maybe forever. You will see white players on Alabama, as with Bedwell from Priceville who now plays at Samford. Wish we had the same colorblind selection here. Pick the best basketball player, not the best athlete. There is more to the game than the physical ability, just take a look at the NCAA’s (ie, Butler, Santa Clara, etc) I am sure we have as skilled players as the West and East Coast.
