Class 4A Boys
New Hope 71, Ridgeland 42
The Associated Press

JACKSON – Dale Hughes scored 21 points to lead New Hope to a 71-42 win over Ridgeland on Tuesday in the Class 4A boys high school playoffs.

Ray Knight chipped 17 points for New Hope (28-8) and Rashanti Harris added 16.

New Hope built a 32-22 halftime lead and it was never close in the second half.

James Archie led Ridgeland (28-11) with 18 points.

Class 4A Girls
Indianola Gentry 76, Brookhaven 69
The Associated Press

JACKSON – Brizannia Washington scored 32 points, including nine in overtime, to lift Indianola Gentry to a 76-69 win over Brookhaven on Tuesday in the Class 4A girls high school playoffs.

Veronica Walker added 15 points for Gentry (37-0) and Jerrica Crawford chipped in 14.

It was a three-point game in overtime when Gentry hit a couple of free throws then got a steal and layup at the buzzer to take the win.

Swayze Black scored 30 points to lead Brookhaven (31-7) and Nikki Byrd added 23.

Class 1A Girls
East Oktibbeha 52, Houlka 21
The Associated Press

JACKSON – April Sykes scored 18 points to lead East Oktibbeha to a 52-21 win over Houlka on Tuesday in the Class 1A girls high school playoffs.

Cassandra Bradford chipped in 12 for East Oktibbeha (32-2).

East Oktibbeha led 32-12 at halftime.

Candiace McIntosh led Houlka (23-13) with 10 points.

Class 1A Boys
Durant 69, Coldwater 62
The Associated Press

JACKSON – Bobby Williams scored 18 points to lead Durant to a 69-62 win over Coldwater in the Class 1A boys high school playoffs on Tuesday.

Akeem Moore added 14 for Durant (24-9), Cordaryl Anderson had 12 and Travis Johnson scored 10.

Coldwater led 27-17 at halftime. But Durant used a 10-0 run at the end of the third whittle Coldwater’s lead down to 42-38. Then Durant outscored Coldwater 31-20 in the fourth quarter to take the win.

Terrance Milam led Coldwater (22-12) with 17 points, Ross Shorter added 13 and Kortney Adams put 12 on the board.
