2A Girls
H.W. Byers 55, Kemper Co. 47

JACKSON – Rachel Jones scored 15 points to lead Byers to a 55-47 win over Kemper County on Saturday in the Class 2A girls high school playoffs.

Simone Ryan added 11 points for Byers (34-4) and Symone Gorman put 10 on the board.

Kemper led 31-21 at halftime, but Byers opened the second half with an 11-0 run to take a 32-31 lead. The scored was tied at 45-all with just over two minutes to play in the game when Byers outscored Kemper 10-2 to take the win.

Brittany Bohanon led Kemper (22-13) with 18 points and Chadisty Hickman scored 11.

Class 2A Boys
Scott Central 58, Tchula Marshall 47

JACKSON – Jimmy Broomfield scored 16 points to lead Scott Central to a 58-47 win over Tchula Marshall on Saturday in the Class 2A boys high school playoffs.

Kenneth Barlow chipped in 14 points and Kendrick McKee added 13 for Scott Central (24-11).

Scott Central led 29-18 at halftime and Tchula (24-11) never got close in second half.

Dennis Weatherall led Tchula with 10 points.

Class 3A Girls
Southeast Lauderdale 72, Raymond 66

JACKSON – Martika Ivy scored 26 points to lead Southeast Lauderdale to a 72-66 win over Raymond on Saturday in the Class 3A girls high school playoffs.

Lucy Ruffin added 14 for Southeast Lauderdale (35-1), Brittany Roberts scored 11 and Passien Thompson chipped in 10.

Kayla Robinson scored 17 points for Raymond (33-3) and Balencia McFarland put 15 on the board.

Southeast Lauderdale led 41-31 at halftime and never trailed after that.

Class 3A Boys
Columbia 72, Jefferson Co. 70

JACKSON – Scottie Woodson scored 17 points to lead Columbia to a 72-70 win over Jefferson County on Saturday in the Class 3A boys high school playoffs.

Nicholas Magee scored 13 points for Columbia (30-4), Daniel Magee added 12 and Taylor Kelly chipped in 11.

Kadon Day scored 28 points for Jefferson County (26-12) and Percy Turner put 26 on the board.

Turner scored 13 of his points in the fourth quarter, including a basket with 3 seconds left that cut the score to 72-70. But Columbia was able to run out the clock and take the win.
