A few things to note about the Grand Slam:
• Games will be Webcast – a video feed, yes – on www.psi360.com, with Josh West handling play-by-play. Josh does a lot of radio work down around Ridgeland; he does a good job. But don’t forget to visit my blog for incisive insight throughout the game.
• Y’all need to show up Saturday morning, at 9 a.m., for a load of fun events. There will be an all-star basketball game (a bunch of creaky old radio guys vs. a Boys & Girls Club team); a slam dunk contest; and a 3-point shootout. The latter two events will feature players selected to the Mississippi/Alabama All-Star Games, and players whose teams are in the Slam are eligible as well. The slam dunk final will be held during halftime of the boys championship game Saturday afternoon.
It costs you only a $2 donation for the whole she-bang, which should end around 11.
• Those Mississippi All-Stars will be formally introduced Saturday: the boys during halftime of the girls game, and the girls during halftime of the boys game.
